No matter the scale, the plan is always to make it feel like home.
The Opinicon Project
The Opinicon Project focused on adding new millwork, furniture and art to an established and beloved hospitality space. Years after opening The Opinicon to the public, the clients reached out to When + Where Design to help reprogram some of the existing spaces to meet their current needs.
The project focused on The Main Lodge, designing a new custom storage unit for the Lobby, custom millwork for the restaurant and sourcing furniture throughout.
With experience in sourcing commercial-grade furniture, the design intent was to navigate the typical commercial offerings to discover solutions that fit with the history and nostalgia of The Opinicon. Each piece had to address the modern needs for functionality, while looking as if they had always been there.
Pulling from the existing material palettes and profiles, the millwork was designing to be thoughtfully cohesive, weaving into the original fabric and design of the building.
